Bocadillo, or how I built an open source async web framework

May 25, 2019, 10:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.

In November 2018, Florimond took the leap and decided to start Bocadillo, an asynchronous web framework and his first open source project. In this talk, he wants to share with you the story that led him to become an open source maintainer and what he has learnt in the process. Florimond thinks you too can (and should) give it a try, especially if you’re into web development.

You will learn about many topics including: project definition and management, code quality, documentation, maintenance, branding, community, managing expectations, and many others.

The demo will also introduce you to modern Python asynchronous programming, which has become a significant part of the Python ecosystem.

So, if you’re a interested in open source, curious about async web frameworks, or if you’re always up for a good story, you’ll enjoy this talk.
